why do you hate it? that's funny that your mom worked there -- remember when mine worked at borders?!
They treated her badly. once it went over from W.O. to W.F. it became much more corporate. My favorite guy from W.O. up quit for the same reason.
I think that once a company gets so big it loses much of what people loved about it in the first place. it's the borders of health food!
how are they to you? hopefully nicer to vendors.
yeah, they're pretty great -- i'm positive it depends on the individual store, because they do so much at an individual/regional level. also, most of the people i know who work at the portland whole foods like it pretty well. however, i really do think it varies from store to store a lot! that sucks that your mom had a bad experience...what's she doing now?
not sure. there really are no other health food stores left.
